Auchentoshan Scotch Whisky
Auchentoshan Scotch whisky distillery was established by John Bulloch in 1823 on the Dumbartonshire estate of Auchentoshan. It was originally called Duntocher.
This Lowland Malt Distillery rests at the foot of the Old Kilpatrick Hills, overlooking Glasgow and the famous River Clyde, once referred to as Scotland’s gateway to the world.
In 1834 Bulloch & Co Ltd sold the Duntocher Distillery to John Hart and Alexander Filshie, they renamed the distillery Auchentoshan.
In 1875 – James & Alexander Filshie refurbished the distillery and in1878 sold it to CH Curtis & Co, Greenock Whisky merchants.
Alexander Ferguson & Co Ltd took over the distillery in 1900 and three years later sold it to George & John MacLachlan Ltd.
On the13th & 14th of March 1941 the German Luftwaffe bombed the Clydebank area and docks. During the ‘Clydebank blitz’ Warehouse’s 1, 2 & 3 were destroyed along with almost 1 million litres of whisky.
In 1960 MacLachlan Ltd was bought by Tennants and in 1969 sold on to Eadie Cairns Ltd.
In 1984 Auchentoshan was bought by Stanley P Morrison, later to be known as Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd.
The distillery has been extensively refurbished since and still retains all its traditional production methods including its Triple Distillation process.

Distillery Style
Nose : Light, grassy and citric.
Palate : Very light bodied. Fresh, clean, malty and citric.
Finish : Long and delicate.
