Glen Mhor Scotch Whisky

Glen Mhor Scotch whisky distillery was founded in 1892.

The name Glen Mhor means "Great Glen" in Gaelic. In 1954 Glen Mhor became the first distillery to use Saladin Boxes to malt its Barley. These Maltings ceased operating in 1980.

In 1972 the Distillers Company Limited, who operated the distillery until 1983 when it was mothballed due to low profitability, bought the distillery.

Glen Mhor was dismantled in 1986 then demolished in 1988 to make way for a supermarket.

The history of Glen Mhor is closely linked to that of the nearby Glen Albyn distillery, also closed in 1983.

Nose : Sweet, vanilla, oaky.

Palate : Sweet, syrupy, oak, barley, vanilla, spice.

Finish : Long complex and sweet.
